First Week
ITM Microschool just finished its first week and it was amazing! I remember having a dream when I was 18 and pursuing a degree in early childhood education, I wanted to work with kids and open my own preschool. I always thought it was just a silly dream and it was forever going to stay just a dream.. Little did I know, I would be here ending my first week at my microschool. When my dream originated, I did not know it would look like what it does today. But, as the years went on, I had two kids of my own and enjoyed homeschooling them but I missed working with families and their children. I was not sure how I was going to combine my passion for homeschooling my own children and teaching other kids but the two collided and here I am writing about my first week! It still feels so surreal at times.
The first week was exciting and getting to know the kids and their parents was the highlight of my week. I was not sure how our first week would look but I am happy with how smoothly everything went. Of course, with any new business, new adventure, there are things you learn as you go and I quickly learned that there were things I needed for the school. Regardless of those minor necessities, everything still went smoothly and most importantly the kids and parents were happy at the end of the day.
My dream is now my reality and I still can’t believe it. If you know me, I am not much of a dreamer and I did not believe this was achievable especially with some setbacks. I put all that negativity aside and kept pushing and putting myself out there and it happened. I have a list of things to be thankful and grateful for in my life and In The Moment Microschool is at the top of that list.
So, for those reading, as cliche as it may seem, DO NOT give up on your dreams. Even when things don’t seem to be happening, keep pushing on. Do something everyday for whatever it is you’re trying to do, even if it is something small. It will happen. I promise.
